Refurbishment at the Home of PVC-U Windows
Spectus SightLine 70 Reversible windows have been used to upgrade two blocks
of flats in Macclesfield, Cheshire. The flats are very close to Spectus' headquarters.
In fact residents in the upper stories can see Spectus and the factory where
the profiles were extruded.
Over two hundred
windows have been
fitted to enclose the
flat's balcony areas.
This has provided
additional space for
the tenants that can
be used all year round.
Closing in the balcony
has also dramatically
improved the look of
the building and has
deprived the local bird
population of roosting
and nesting space!
The flats were
refurbished when the
original single glazed
windows were replaced
with double glazed
PVC-U windows
made from Spectus'
Classic 62 profile.

the new Spectus
Reversible windows
and the work was
carried out for
Macclesfield Borough
Council. Ian Mann of

The Spectus Reversible 70 window is ideal for high rise buildings or where access
is restricted. This fully reversible window can be cleaned from the inside in line
with the recommendations of BS8213. Since its launch the Spectus Reversible 70
has been successfully used in a wide range of projects.
An important benefit of the window is that, when it is being reversed, it protrudes
entirely to the outside. This means ornaments, curtains and blinds are unaffected
by its operation. In addition, the system has been designed so a full range of
composite styles can be fabricated.
The Spectus Reversible 70 has a wide range of hardware options and
is available in a range of finishes.
