Marvin Beauty Matched with Commercial Performance

To meet the aesthetic, performance and flexibility needs of the commercial market, Marvin Windows and Doors, the premier manufacturer of made-to-order wood and clad wood windows and doors, introduces the new Marvin Commercial Door.

"The substantial proportions, sturdy hinges, hardware options and overall functional design make this door a great choice for many different commercial applications," said Jeff Siverhus, product planner for Marvin. "Now buildings such as banks, schools, libraries and medical clinics can enjoy a beautifully crafted wood door with the performance demands of a door used hundreds of times a day."

Available in the spring of 2005, the new Marvin Commercial Door is designed to withstand heavy use, with sturdy 4 ½-inch ball bearing hinges and beveled meeting stiles to ensure long term operation.

Standard features and options make the Marvin Commercial Door a versatile choice for non-residential buildings, including:

  • Commercial hardware package - A commercial hardware package with rim or mortise operating hardware, closer, and removable mullion allows the door to suit various non-residential needs.
  • Sills - A ½-inch low-profile sill is standard, or select an offset saddle to suit various flooring applications. A ¼-inch low-profile sill with a ¼-inch threshold stop is also available to complement a variety of field-applied vertical rod devices.
  • Metal frame option - A metal frame option will be available for those who prefer wood panels hung in metal frames.

Standard features of the Marvin Commercial Door match commercial expectations for aesthetics, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) codes, and size capabilities. Six-inch stiles and top rails provide a robust appearance with functional applications, fitting a variety of hardware and concealing closing mechanisms. The door meets ADA codes with a bottom rail height of 11 3/8 inches, a net clear opening of 32 inches and a standard low-profile sill. The Marvin Commercial Door is sized to accommodate the non-residential market with standard heights of seven feet or eight feet and widths of three feet or six feet. Stationary panels and side lites are also available.
