Simonton Windows Introduces Injection-molded Geometric Windows

Imagine a shape: octagon, circle, oval. Now imagine that shape transformed into a window with a seamless low-maintenance frame. Simonton Windows® has taken your imagination and turned it into reality with the introduction of a new series of Injection-molded Geometrics in their Simonton ProFinish® product line.

“Geometric shaped windows are extremely popular in both residential and commercial new construction applications,” says Christopher Burk, product manager for Simonton Windows. “These new one-piece frames feature clean corners. Best of all, since the windows include a nailing fin and simulated brickmould or J-channel, installation is fast and easy. That saves job site time and labor costs.”

The Octagon window is sized to fit a 24-inch by 24-inch rough opening. The window features plain glass or can be ordered with a colonial grid sandwiched between the glass. The Circle window, which is offered in the same size, is available with either plain glass or a standard grid. And, the Oval window, sized at 24-inches by 36-inches, is available with either plain glass or a standard grid. The Oval window can be installed either vertically or horizontally, allowing homeowners different options for window positioning.

“The three windows in this series are offered with a variety of glass options and the choice of hard coat or soft coat Low E glass with Argon gas for increased energy performance,” says Burk. “Each unit will feature a standard one-inch Insulated Glass Unit (IGU) with a Super Spacer for high energy efficiency.

“One of the best benefits of these windows is that the frame is made in one piece in a customized mold. This means that the shapes are perfect every time. There’s no possible deviation, so each window is identical. Marry that with the elimination of seams and welds and you have a very special window that installs quickly and offers terrific easy maintenance values for homeowners. We definitely envision introducing more Injection-molded Geometric windows in the future as more sizes and shapes are requested by builders and homeowners.”

Injection-molded out of polypropylene, the frames of the Geometric windows come in white with a paintable interior trim kit that is adjustable for different wall thicknesses. A polypropylene-approved paint is recommended for the trim.
