February 22, 2006 By: Nicole Harris Simonton Windows® Wins Crystal Achievement AwardSimonton Windows®, a leader in the vinyl window and door industry, has received the 2005 Crystal Achievement Award in the category of “Most Innovative Marketing Program” from Window & Door magazine. Simonton’s winning entry focused on the company’s first appearance at a major industry trade show, the 2005 International Builders’ Show. “Crystal Achievement Awards recognize unique innovations in product technology, manufacturing and marketing,” according to Nicole Harris, vice president and publisher of Window & Door magazine. “Winners were selected by a group of industry executives representing a broad segment of the window and door industry. The judges brought a great deal of experience and expertise to the selection process. Simonton should be truly honored to be cited by this distinguished group of industry peers.” Simonton’s combined marketing efforts at the 2005 International Builders’ Show involved the creation of a massive 3,285 square-foot exhibit featuring a 37 foot-tall moving weather system, participation in a demonstration show house and hosting of several media and home builder association activities. The company’s chief goal was to focus attendee attention on Simonton’s hurricane-resistant StormBreaker Plus™ windows and doors. “We dedicated our efforts at the 2005 International Builders’ Show to strengthening brand awareness for our products and using the show as a springboard to promoting our coastal product line,” says Chris Monroe, vice president of marketing for Simonton Windows. “This Crystal Achievement Award recognizes the work of dozens of Simonton employees who worked together to make our exhibit and marketing efforts in Orlando memorable and significant. A primary reason we won this award is because we had so many strategic marketing elements in place for this trade show. We distributed thousands of Simonton logo backpacks to attendees, partnered with The Weather Channel to offer free severe weather alert programs and created unique activities to reach out to our customers, dealers and builders with our product messages. This multi-layered marketing strategy proved very effective in generating awareness for our company and products.” Window & Door magazine is published by the National Glass Association and has 25,000 subscribers including manufacturers, distributors and dealers of windows, doors, skylights and other fenestration products. Named the “best overall national vinyl window manufacturer” in a 2005 industry study, Simonton Windows produces ENERGY STAR® compliant replacement and new construction windows and doors, including a line of Dade County-approved hurricane-resistant products.
