Hurd Insulating Windows – The Heat Is On

Hurd insulating windows have reached such heights that they meet all the Energy-Star (a national symbol of quality) ratings without using Argon gas for insulation. The Hurd insulating window provides a wide variety of aluminum-clad casement windows, double-hung windows, vinyl windows, patio doors and frames of superior quality wood.

Until now, insulating windows had a pressure-relief device, which could withstand very low atmospheric pressures, without collapsing. The disadvantage of such devices is that, over a span of time, the layer of Argon dissipates, leading to a degraded quality of insulation, much below the ratings of the Energy Star requisites.

Hurd Millwork is the leading manufacturer of the insulated window and they claim that the performance of their insulated window will not deteriorate with time. Hurd designed the insulated window especially for the Rocky Mountain-region, with a special attention to the low atmospheric pressure prevailing in these regions. The secret behind their endurance is that they use air to fill the insulation units rather than using Argon Gas.

Hurd has also made the necessary modifications in the designs of the frames and claddings of the windows. For customers who insist upon the use of Argon Gas in an insulating window, Hurd also keeps the option of using the same. Hurd combines the best of features like stainless steel Intercepts, to provide optimum service. Warm edge – spacers introduced in the insulated window, controls heat transfers and lessens the condensation of moisture around the periphery of the glass, reducing any chance of water stains.

Hurd’s uniqueness lies in their use of stainless steel intercepts, which is non-corrosive. Every Insulating Glass unit that they manufacture has a scientifically calculated air space between the windowpanes, which falls within the specified narrow range prescribed by the National Fenestration Rating Council.

Hurd proudly bears the flag of Energy Star of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (E.P.A.).
