Gentek upgrades windows with easy-clean glass, new spacer system

The PVC vinyl windows are manufactured at Gentek’s state-of-the-art window plant in London, where more than 135,000 units are produced each year. The window upgrades are a direct result of the company’s recent $5 million capital expenditure—including a $1.5 million investment in a new automated glass line with on-line argon gas filling.

Gentek’s market-exclusive Low E2 Plus glass combines the energy savings of Low E2 with the easy-clean benefits of a non-stick coating. The glass boasts a smooth and hydrophilic surface that supports rain, dew and wash water to flush the surface clean. It also suppresses the formation of water droplets, allowing the surface to dry faster and spotless.

The windows’ advanced Super Spacer™ system on the sealed glass unit delivers true “warm edge” technology, according to Gentek. The all-silicone foam formula and unique dual-seal design provide more than five times the life expectancy of single seal systems. Other benefits of this NASA-approved technology include reduced condensation, increased insulation performance and improved energy savings.

As a result of the window enhancements, Gentek has increased the warranty on its North American Window Collection to include lifetime coverage on the sealed insulating glass for the original purchaser. This is one of the only windows on the market that offers lifetime protection on the sealed unit, according to General Manager Bob Hastings. “With the Super Spacer seal and heavy-duty vinyl construction, we’ve increased the warranty coverage on the sealed unit from 25 years to a lifetime for the original owner. I don’t think there’s another window in Canada that offers a warranty this strong.”

The windows are available in a wide selection of shapes and sizes in nine popular colors: White, Almond, Cream, Canyon Clay, Chestnut Brown, Sable, Sandelwood, Forest Green, and Commercial Brown. They can be purchased throughout Canada from Gentek’s company-owned distribution centers, and in the Midwestern U.S. through independent distributors.
